Achievements

• ✓ Dr Rajiv Karnik has a rare distinction of topping the Bombay University in M.B.B.S., M.D. as well as DM (Cardiology) examinations and secured six gold medals, making him the only DM cardiologist in Bombay University to create this record. He was the first Cardiologist in the city of Bombay to implant an ICD – Pacemaker device at Bombay Hospital. He worked on a Telemedicine project assisted by Arthur Anderson Co. His accolades include the Rashtriya Ratna Award, the Commonwealth Scholarship for higher training in Cardiology (University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK), and the Dr. Ivan Pinto Gold Medal for the DM degree examination (1984).
