Achievements

• ✓ Dr. Vijan pioneered the implantation of the Automatic cardiovascular defibrillator for malignant ventricular arrhythmia in the UK, and he implanted the first AICD in Bombay. He also pioneered the technique of dual chamber pacing in India and was the first to implant a biventricular pacemaker for heart failure patients. He has been at the forefront of Interventional Cardiology, implanting intracoronary stents as early as 1993. Additionally, he has conducted live training programs in angioplasty in China and Vietnam and introduced the technique of Septal ablation for Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy in 1997.
