What is Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA)?
A blood vessel called the Ductus Arteriosus connects the aorta and pulmonary artery, when the child is in the mother’s womb. This allows blood to flow from the pulmonary artery to the aorta and to the body without passing through the lungs.
